In response to long-standing criticism from Civil Rights advocates that hate speech damages minorities more than other cohorts, Facebook is overhauling its algorithms that detect hate speech and prioritizing automatic removal of statements geared to minorities, over those made toward men, whites, Americans, and Christians.
What???
First of all, since when is every ugly statement made against a person that they don’t like considered “hate speech”?
Secondly, why should that which is truly “hate speech” be acceptable by anyone to anyone?
Thirdly, why is our Federal Government continuing to allow Facebook to enjoy the liability protections of a “platform” under Section 23O, when they are actively censoring posts and acting as a “publisher?”
