MAY 6, STATE ISSUE 2 VOTE NO! |
ISSUE 2 IS A SHAM BUILT ON FALSE AND MISLEADING PROMISES
WHAT IS ISSUE 2?
ISSUE 2 is a ballot issue that will be It will be voted on May 6th. IT IS A CONSITUTIONAL AMMENDMENT AUTHORIZING OHIO TO ISSUE GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS UP TO 2.5 BILLION DOLLARS. THESE KINDS OF INITIATIVES SHOULD NOT BE PART OF OUR STATE CONSTITUTION. General Obligation Bonds liabilities are paid for out of our general fund. Therefore, all citizens pay for the infrastructure of other communities. Infrastructure that they don’t benefit from.
WHY VOTE NO?
- GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS ARE PAID FROM GENERAL FUND AND RURAL COMMUNITIES PAYING FOR LARGE CITY INFRASTRUCTURE
- ISSUE 2 IS A HUGE SLUSH FUND THAT IS FRAUGHT WITH HIGH POTENTIAL FOR CORRUPTION — VOTE NO!
- ISSUE 2 WAS QUIETLY PUT ON THE BALLOT WITHOUT INFORMING THE PUBLIC, WHY? SEEMS SLEEZY — VOTE NO!
- A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CORRECT OR CHANGE ONCE ADOPTED.
- ARTICLE VIII SECTION 2 ALREADY HAS INFRASTRUCTURE BOND SECTIONS, 2t IS A NEW AMENDMENT, NOT A RENEWAL — NOT NEEDED
- CITIZENS ALREADY PAY FOR LOCAL INFRASTRUCTURE VIA LEVIES TOWNSHIP & COUNTY. STATE INFRASTRUCTURE IS PAID BY 38 CENT GAS TAX. FEDERAL INFRASTRUCTURE PAID BY 18.5 CENT GAS TAX. (WE PAY A LOT OF TAXES FOR INFRASTRUCTURE)
- THIS IS A STATE WELFARE PROGRAM, WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO? WHO MAKES THE DECISIONS WHAT PROJECTS ARE FUNDED THAT THESE PROJECTES ARE NOT NEEDED.
- WHO ISSUES THE BONDS, WHO MANAGES THE BONDS, WHO IS ACCOUNTABLE? NO ACCOUNTABILITY. — VOTE NO!
- COULD BE USED TO BUST ZONING AND FORCE SEWERS IN RURAL AREAS
- PROPONENTS ARE MISLEADING THE PUBLIC: ISSUE 2 DOES NOT BRING REPAIRS; IT ISSUES BONDS, WHICH CAN BE USED IRRESPONSIBLY.
- WASTE AND FRAUD ARE A HIGH RISK.
The actual ballot language follows:
The other side argument for issue 2: A couple of comments. First, Issue 2 does not keep us safe or make any repairs. That is only done, when local governments do projects and we all know that some are incompetent and those projects are sometimes screwed up. There is NOTHING in this amendment that tells us it is a renewal. It adds a constitution amendment 2t. Beware of liars. There argument says there is not tax increase. There is no proof of that. It is an operating bond, which means it is paid back from ohio’s operating budget. Right now we have money. If in 5 years the dems are running things we could be broke and will need a tax increase. These statements are really suspect.
