The hypocrisy of some of the post-election news is simply mind-blowing.
Latest example. An Amazon Alabama facility is holding an election on whether to unionize. The union election is set to begin on Feb. 8 by mail. Amazon filed a motion to delay the election and asked the National Labor Relations Board to direct warehouse workers to cast unionizing votes in-person, rather than by mail.
Here is Amazon’s rationale: “We believe that the best approach to a valid, fair and successful election is one that is conducted manually, in-person, making it easy for associates to verify and cast their vote in close proximity to their workplace.”
Conservatives have been vilified for suggesting that mail-in voting introduced fraud in the Presidential election and swung the results. But now that mail-in voting is not in Amazon’s best interest, suddenly mail-in voting is bad. Does this feel Orwellian to you?
